Go..... Tigers!
So, we are entering a brand new chapter in the Matchell household. My wonderful husband, born and raised in our sweet little town, never having lived more than a mile from the local high school (including when he went "away" to college!), has accepted a coaching position in a nearby city. It has been a roller coaster of a few weeks, but God is so good and has given us peace at every curve. It all started when Brian's buddy and current varsity coach, Jason McMahan, accepted a different coaching position. Brian applied for his job, but the administration decided to go with another coach who's had more varsity experience. Even though it was hard news to hear, Brian had complete trust in the wise administrators. He has great respect for them, especially the athletic director, Kerwin Dees--so much so that there were truly no hard feelings over their decision (well, maybe just a few on my part--but Brian reigned me back in with his calm words, as he always does!). :) When Jason heard about their decision, he called Brian and offered him one of his assistant positions. Brian is really excited to try something new for this season of our lives. Just like in the business world, the nature of coaching demands that families be willing to move when opportunities arise. We've been blessed so far to be able to settle in one place, but we're also excited to follow Brian and support him in this new position. I had a little chat with the kiddos yesterday morning about how the games will look a little different now when we go cheer for Daddy. We can still go to the Panther games and cheer for those kiddos and Papa, but we'll also be going to Tiger games and cheering for those guys now, too. It's all so new that we haven't really talked through everything, but if you know of anyone in the market for a cute little 3 bedroom house, let us know! :)

I read the article in the paper and wondered how you guys were with the decisions. I thankful it is all amicable. God knows best. What an exciting time to move to a new home and town. Praying for the stress that comes along with moving and selling and settling in, esp with kiddos. :)
Still so stranged! I never thought it would happen ... the Matchells leaving Siloam!
