Our Joyful Boy

Even though we go to gymnastics every week, it's still a bit of a battle to get Jakin to actually go out on the floor. He has to slowly take off his jacket, then his shoes, sit in a chair, snuggle with me a bit...you get the picture. Stall tactics. Thankfully, we have wonderful teachers who usually walk over and take him by the hand and lead him out. (Anna, on the other hand, can't shed her clothes fast enough to get on the floor. She's a little gymnastics maniac.) The interesting thing is, that once Jakin is out there, he has an absolute blast. Yesterday, the trampoline was their last station, and it was Jakin's turn. He jumped his little heart out, all the while singing "I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy down in my heart, Where?! ..." at the top of his lungs, completely oblivious that everyone in the gym could hear him. And he repeated it on every turn. It was precious to see his little joyful heart spilling out for everyone to see.

So, I was just thinking that when Brian is done with basketball season, the five of you should make a little trip up to Nebraska for a little fun with the Manthe's... I was just thinking how fun it would be. Let me know what you think!
